Since we are only a few weeks past the season for gingerbread houses, you might be surprised to find that, thanks to the New York Times, ginger is once again in the news. New research shows that eating ginger daily might help with your sore muscles after a hard workout routine. The study, published by the American Pain Society, showed that consuming two grams of ginger per day significantly reduced muscle pain after an exercise induced injury.
Raw Ginger (Sheng Jiang) and Dried Ginger (Gan Jiang) are both commonly used in traditional chinese herbal formulas and medicinal cooking. Are you wondering if ginger might be helpful to you or a loved one? If so, we suggest you ask your acupuncturist who can make sure that it's appropriate for your personal situation. |
